Assistant Finance Manager

Location: North East (Rainton Bridge Business Park)
Salary:£27,500
Hours: 9.00am – 5.00pm, 5 days per working week

You’ll be a smart, punctual & reliable individual; you will be a minimum AAT Qualified and possess 3+ years experience from a financial background.

You will be looking to take on an assistant finance manager role, at a semi- senior level, reporting to the finance director and board.

You will have experience of managing a wide range of financial tasks including monthly management accounts production.
Within this role you will also be required to manage similar tasks for other companies in the group.

You will have:

Outline of tasks involved…

  • Using Sage 50C accounting software
  • Daily transactional elements of the business including:
    • Credit control
      • Client invoice processing
      • Internal reporting
      • Sending Monthly client statements
    • Purchase Ledger
      • Daily supplier invoice processing
      • Monthly supplier payment run
    • Reconciliations
    • Daily bookkeeping from bank transactions
    • Dealing with queries from both clients and internal staff
    • Quarterly VAT return.
    • Assistance in Monthly management accounts
      • Assist in Monthly Payroll Journals
      • Company credit card imports
    • Ad Hoc Financial tasks daily, Monthly & Quarterly
  • Assistance in year end activities during audit of financial statements.

Required to support other companies in the group with similar financial duties.

Chefs all levels

Pub culture is looking for a Head Chef, Sous Chef, and chefs of all levels.

Hours: 35-48 hours per week

  • Have relevant and up to date certificates for food safety and allergens

 

Head Chefs role

  • To run the kitchen on a daily basis including food ordering, rotas and all relevant paperwork and to help formulate long term plans for the business
  • Create, develop and spec. new menu items, buffet menus as well as bespoke event menus all within the company ethos
  • To ensure staffing levels are kept at the correct business levels
  • To track, replenish and keep in date all stock and to oversee a weekly stock taking
  • have a deep understanding of the fiscal side of running the kitchen and to keep the GP within a set percentage
  • To develop and implement training programmes
  • To ensure training levels are set high and to document and track staff development
  • Be proactive with customer complaints and comments
  • Be aware of current food trends and be able to identify suitable dishes to ad to the menu
  • Plan and implement special boards taking into mind any special events occurring nearby
  • To identify areas of upselling opportunity and be proactive in increasing revenue

 

Sous Chef role

  • Prepare, cook and present amazing food to high standards following company recipes
  • Assist the Head chef in day to day operations and to run the kitchen in their absence
  • To track, restock and keep in order the stock holding
  • Adhere to safety and hygiene regulations and ensure the whole team is following safe practices
  • Flexible approach to work and hours of work
  • Be aware of up to date modern trends as well as being “industry aware”
  • Knowledge and grasp of the procurement system would be an advantage

 

Pub Culture are a pub company with several exciting venues in the North East. We are a rapidly expanding group and a perfect place to grow your career.  Charts is situated at Newcastle Quayside with Quirky décor and live music throughout the month. The kitchen is open 0900 until 2030 serving breakfast, sandwiches, dinner menu, special board & pub snacks. The Engine Room at the Fire Station is located at Sunderland, close to the Empire theatre in the City’s Cultural Quarter. The busy kitchen is open 1000-2030 serving hot food all day with special events outside during the summer months. The Dun Cow in Jesmond runs a weekend kitchen Saturday and Sunday 1200-1900 with changing menus and Sunday roast.
